The Woodland Park Rose Garden is one of my favorite hidden gems in the Seattle area for Senior Portraits. A lot of people don't know about it, because it's almost so easy to miss. This location has been a long-time favorite of mine for so many reasons. In late summer the roses bloom - giving us a beautiful floral backdrop of end of summer ( usually a time when most flowers + greenery have gone golden from the heat of the summer ).
I also love how versatile it is. By just walking a block or two, there are many other alternative backdrops to use. I have a few favorite brick walls, and corners where the sun hits 'just right' in the late afternoon. This location is perfect for those who want a mix of nature, and some elevated neighborhood backdrops. You can wear heels, or dress shoes and stand near some stellar architecture, or frolic around the garden in boots or sneakers.

Madison's session was taken in mid-August at the Woodland Park rose gardens. It was summer, the flowers were blooming and the weather was perfect for a mix of warm weather outfits. I love when clients create a color palette to showcase their personality. Together all the images tie-in together and tell such a wonderful story.

Madison chose a mix of green, denim & black - which felt like a lovely compliment to the mix of flowers, greenery and the brick walls throughout the nearby neighborhood. I loved capturing the range of looks from the tank + denim to shorts & flannel and ending with a feminine dress.

This location is truly a favorite for clients wanting a mix of something urban + bold, with the more bohemian vibes of the rose garden. Perfect for our MODERN session we can do two outfits at the Woodland Rose Garden, or for our ULTIMATE we can spend a bit more time in the gardens and surrounding neighborhood to really pack in as much variety as you'd like!
Madison was a joy to hang with - and her cute candid laughing photos are my favorite!
