At the top of my list for favorite sessions are the ones with your horse. You may not know this about me, but I grew up competitive show-jumping from the age of 3 till 17. I traveled all over the west coast for all of my childhood and teen years riding, training and competing. It was my entire life - and my first "career". Whenever I get the opportunity to work with a senior portrait at her farm - it is truly so special to me to capture that bond.


Early in the summer we headed out to Redmond at Thumbs Up Farm to meet Tara and take her senior portraits with her horse ( and dog! ). I loved the outfits she chose, and how editorial the equestrian photos turned out. She looks so sharp in her show outfit! The blue is perfect with her eyes!

Over the years I'm sure you have seen many of our senior portrait sessions with riders - at various farms all over the Seattle, greater Eastside and up North. When you ride, compete ( or do any sport ) it is such a huge part of your life. Showcasing your passion at your senior portrait session can be truly memorable!

If you choose to have your senior portraits taken with your horse at your barn, we will be sure to make the process a breeze. All you need to do is check with your trainer, and pick a quiet day ( typically during times when there aren't lessons or training happening ) and we will head out to your location.


Our makeup artist travels with me, and we'll do your hair & makeup on-site before getting started! We recommending having a parent, or groom on hand to help get your horse cleaned up for photos. We will usually start with a few photos of you and your horse together for 10-15 minutes, and then let them hang out in their stall or grooming area so they can relax in between outfit changes.


Our goal is to keep your horse calm and will be in tune with their personality and mood to ensure they behave nicely for your photos!

The rest of your session will take place at the property - we will make sure to find all the best spots to capture a wide variety of photos. We were able to find so many beautiful spots, all steps from the barn. The gorgeous green trees near the pastures were perfect for Tara's white dress outfit, and I loved getting a few candid moments in with her horse peeking out the stall window. There's always a story to tell that comes together with each client.
