At the top of my list for favorite sessions are the ones with your horse. You may not know this about me, but I grew up competitive show-jumping from the age of 3 till 17. I traveled all over the west coast for all of my childhood and teen years riding, training and competing. It was my entire life - and my first "career". Whenever I get the opportunity to work with a senior portrait at her farm - it is truly so special to me to capture that bond.


At the end of summer we headed out to Redmond to Potcreek Farm to meet Helena and take her senior portraits with her horse Elektra. I know these photos will be cherished by Helena and her family for years to come.


I hope you love this session as much as I do.

Over the years I'm sure you have seen many of our senior portrait sessions with riders - at various farms all over the Seattle, greater Eastside and up North. When you ride, compete ( or do any sport ) it is such a huge part of your life. Showcasing your passion at your senior portrait session can be truly memorable!

If you choose to have your senior portraits taken with your horse at your barn, we will be sure to make the process a breeze. All you need to do is check with your trainer, and pick a quiet day ( typically during times when there aren't lessons or training happening ) and we will head out to your location.


Our makeup artist travels with me, and we'll do your hair & makeup on-site before getting started! We recommending having a parent, or groom on hand to help get your horse cleaned up for photos. We will usually start with a few photos of you and your horse together for 10-15 minutes, and then let them hang out in their stall or grooming area so they can relax in between outfit changes.


Our goal is to keep your horse calm and will be in tune with their personality and mood to ensure they behave nicely for your photos!

I'm without words! The pics of Helena (and Elektra) are stunning. I cried when we looked at them together last evening...just now letting you know how much we appreciate you and sharing your talents with us. Yes, you had gorgeous models, but your creative talent stands on its own :) We can't thank you enough!

The rest of your session will take place at the property - we will make sure to find all the best spots to capture a wide variety of photos. There were so many great spots at this farm, we were able to frolic in a grassy field, find a cute shaded forest path, and utilize parts of the arena and stables to find the best lighting and backdrops.


I absolutely had so much fun at this session with Helena. The late summer sun was perfect in August - and we were able to squeeze in her session between horse shows. It was perfect timing!
