every week we showcase one of our clients in our "Featured Friday" series - highlighting the amazing graduating seniors we have worked with, and their session with us.
Working with Nanki last summer was truly a treat! Her enthusiasm to get creative while I experimented with some film cameras and prisms was infectious. I loved the chance to play with the light while she danced in the tall fields of golden grass. Capturing her smile on camera ( and film ) still lights me up to look at today.
I hope this session gives you a taste for what it feels like to work with me. We will have so much fun exploring a location, seeking out the best light, and playing with film. I'll always give you direction and guidance with posing so you can feel comfortable in front of the camera. I have soooo many favorites from this session.
Enjoy this peek at our session with Nanki!

You can see I had so much fun mixing in film with digital for Nanki's session. I had a mix of black & white, and color film that I created with a vintage point & shoot 35mm camera that I picked up from Goodwill for $5. I love the nostalgic feeling it instantly creates - however, I specifically chose it for it's similarity to a disposable camera. I wanted that "instant" look created on film - without the environmental impact of throwing a whole camera out after.
Can you tell which images were captured on digital vs. film?

I also brought along my prism, which is another way I enjoy creating unique images in camera. You can catch the reflection in some of the photos, or the corner of a rainbow in others. Together with the film the entire session has such a romantic and effortless energy. I love love love how all the images turned out and tell a story.
