Even though I have been to and photographed hundreds of sessions at Discovery Park over my twenty-year career, I always am finding ways to be inspired by it. There's something new to discover each time, and to look at the scenery as a way to compliment my client.

Celia's session is the perfect example of what the park looks like towards the end of summer, when the sun is high in the sky - and the grass has been sun-bleached. August is the perfect time for those looking for this vibe.

Celia brought this stunning red dress to her session! We went to a part of the park with tall wheat colored grass - and the overcast late August day provided the perfect diffused lighting.

I had so much fun directing her poses as she walked and twirled through the grass. The red absolutely pops and I had so many favorites from this part of her session!

I'm also a huge fan of bringing something meaningful to your session - whether it's your Letterman's jacket, your (new) college acceptance sweatshirt, a pet - instrument or the sport you play!

Celia was really proud of her jacket and achievements throughout high school. I loved taking a few extra minutes during her session to highlight that memory for her and her family :)

For the last outfit of Celia's session we headed down to the beach at Discovery Park. It was a perfect golden sunset on this beautiful and warm summer day! I had such a great time hanging with Celia and her mom this day - each one of her outfits matched her personality so well. I loved getting to capture her smile & energy!
