Spring time is my favorite ( and most under-rated ) time of year here in Seattle for your senior portraits. The weather has started to take a turn for the best, the grass is super green and some late blooms are popping off. Spring before your senior year is when we work with our Senior Models - and can be ideal for those who are traveling all summer, or want to avoid the summer heat. ( We do have to consider wildfire season in August - sometimes it being too hot or smokey to take pictures at all ).
It is also perfect for those who graduate in a few weeks to get a last minute session in solo or with friends!

One of the most classic Seattle locations is Discovery Park - which is beautiful all year round. Spring is best for the most stunning shades of green, afternoon sun streaming through the trees, and some playful wind.
In May & June, Discovery Park still has tall green grass ( which turns wheat colored in late summer after being sun-bleached from the heat ), full foliage, and some blooms. It can get really toasty in the summer heat, and spring can be a great opportunity to get the best of Discovery Park while the temperatures are more mild.

For those over on the Eastside, or wanting to explore just outside Seattle, we recommend the Bellevue Botanical Garden for a late May session. You will catch flowers in bloom and lush green gardens, however this location looks beautiful year-round, as you can catch the roses in bloom in late summer in August & September.

One of my very favorites ( and super under-rated ) locations in the heart of Seattle is the Olympic Sculpture Park. It has so much variety in such a condensed area - you can have urban walls, metal sculptures + a view of the water, a small beach and lots of greenery ( in the middle of summer ). Take advantage of locations like these during the Spring when there aren't too many people/tourists out and about, and the softer sun.

It really isn't until May that the area on upper Queen Anne ( near Kerry Park ) starts to shine! The big trees lining the street are fully on display, flowers are peeking out of people's front gardens, and the Rhododendron trees are in full bloom. Take advantage of a May session to get the best of what Queen Anne offers. There's so much variety between the cute streets, green trees and colorful flowers - this location has been one of my ride-or-dies for many years!
