headshot session
You've scheduled and confirmed your Headshot session with us ; now what?
Please take a few minutes to review the information on this page - and we will be in touch once more a few days prior to your actual session with last minute reminders and/or updates!
YOUR SESSION
Our Headshot Mini sessions are 20 minutes with one outfit and take place at Seattle's Olympic Sculpture Park
Our full Headshot sessions ( with hair & makeup ) are just under 2 hours from start to finish ( 45 minutes for photography, and 45-60 minutes for hair & makeup ) with two outfits. Sessions typically take place around South Lake Union.

what to wear
Please arrive ready to go in an outfit of your choice! You can bring additional options in case you need some last minute advice.
Try things on the night before to make sure they fit and look appropriate, then hang and iron/steam so they are ready to grab-and-go in the morning.
Think about something that you feel confident in, fits you well and serves the purpose of how you might use your photo ( s ) - i.e. LinkedIn Profile, Resume, Website Bio etc.
Classic basics are going to look timeless and flattering - pair your favorite denim or pants with a sweater or top + jacket, and don’t forget the important accessories like a belt and shoes!
Keep jewelry simple like classic hoops or studs, and necklaces that don't distract from your top. Dainty necklaces may disappear, while long chains may appear distracting. Ensure what you bring/wear works well with your outfit ( s )
Layers - pair a tee or button-down under a blazer, or a well-fitting jacket ( leather or denim )
the little details
Style your hair & makeup as you would for a dinner out with friends, or your normal day-to-day routine. You want to look like yourself! Avoid any new hair-cuts the day-of or trying out a new makeup look. We recommend scheduling your session approximately 2 weeks after any hair appointments ( if desired )
* If you have booked our classic Headshot session - we will be taking care of hair & makeup for you, so please come with a fresh & clean face, and hair clean, dry and/or partially styled so we can get you camera ready.
Get as much rest the night before your session with us, be sure to drink lots of water and keep hydrated. A light breakfast or snack is recommended before your session, and be sure to bring water with you.
Don't forget to bring your favorite lipstick, chapstick, hair brush etc. for touch-ups during the session.
Think about how you will be using your photos, and whether you would need or prefer horizontal or vertical images, or if you are cropping the final image to a square/circle. Please let us know at your session so we can focus on creating images that will be best suited to your needs.
location
All of our Headshot sessions take place outdoors with natural light. Our Headshot MINI sessions take place at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle ( Belltown Neighborhood ) - for it's easy parking, great lighting and variety of backdrops. We will have the option for a simple grey cement wall, as well as lots of greenery. We also love using the Whale Sculpture as a backdrop because of it's beautiful rust color. No matter your needs, this location has it all.
* If you have booked our classic Headshot Session we will email you with information on where to meet us for hair & makeup before heading to a nearby location for photos. Please allow up to 2 hours from start to finish for this session ( about 1 hour for hair & makeup, 15 minutes of travel and 45 minutes of photography with an outfit change in between )
FINAL NOTES:
Please be prepared to be "on location" for your session - meaning you will be changing in your car as there may not be a restroom to change at nearby.
some common questions:
how long until I receive my photos?
Following your session we will take time to download your images, cull and edit the final selects. An online gallery will be sent to you within 3 weeks from your actual photoshoot date. You will be able to review and select your favorites, and download the high-resolution images directly to your computer and order physical prints.
what if i want more than 5 photos?
Your gallery will contain approximately 15+ color corrected and re-touched images. Images are in their final presentation and ready to download. Additional images may be purchased anytime, starting from $75/ea.
what happens if it rains?
In the unfortunate event that the weather looks downright dreadful, we will do our best to re-schedule. As it goes in Seattle - the weather is ever-evolving on an hourly basis. We will reach out the night prior to your session in the event that the weather looks bad to discuss options and/or re-scheduling. There is no re-scheduling fee in the event of rain.
how long do you keep my photos?
We guarantee your images for up to 2-years in our archives. Your gallery will remain online to access for up to 6 months from your session date. Please be sure to download, save and back-up your final selections for safe-keeping!
